Does anyone else feel that the top half an inch of travel does nothing on their M135i? Mine does it in all modes, even sport. It's particularly annoying on tight junctions or roundabouts, I straighten up the wheel then wallow for a second or two before accelerating, while I find the spot where the throttle actually starts opening.
Is this a BMW thing? This is my first one. Everything else I've driven opens the throttle when you start to press the pedal.
I have the auto 'box.
TIA. And hello by the way, I just joined up after lurking for years...

The auto doesn't like low speed part throttle decisions. Not a big problem. Just use the paddles, even in auto mode, to stay in the right gear (probably 1st), or just learn to work with it (apply throttle 0.5 secs early).

Thanks, I'm actually very impressed with the ZF HP8, being a 3 pedals guy and a lifelong auto hater. This is certainly an issue with the throttle (pedal) sensitivity though. Are all the cars like this? I drove the dealer demo and can't really remember, it may have been...

it might just be the slight turbo lag? as others have said, either use the paddles to be in the right gear, or mash your foot a bit harder to get past it.
