Hi all,

Does anyone know of a TV stand suitable for up to a 55" set that is adjustable in height?(on an easy every day basis)

There seems to be plenty of pan and tilt stands both free standing and wall mounted but I cant seem to find any height adjustable ones - I suppose its much harder to implement.

I don't really want a telly that's mounted on the chimney breast and have to look up at it.

Our little'n is very good at not touching the telly but accidents do happen when you're two.

Thanks a lot, Cheers, D.

Have a look at gecko av furniture, multiple cabinet choices and a raised screen mount.

I have one and a drunken fall failed to trouble it. The faller in question steadied his 15 stone on one corner of my plasma.

Very well made kit, definitely toddler proof. Adjusting the height daily would be unecessary but possible and their are multiple height settings.

I've used these and I'm very happy with it:

(They have an eBay shop too I believe).

You can get various versions depending on how much travel you want, but I went for the 46cm lift model as I only needed it to clear my centre speaker and be high enough to disappear behind my projector screen:

By making the installation as discrete as I reasonably could, though she enjoys watching films/concerts/special events on the projector as much as I do. The top arrangement looks like pretty much every other living room TV set up, plus my subwoofer is disguised as a small oak table...so for most day to day use the room doesn't look like a bachelor pad or a hifi shop. I can't get her to let me put black curtains around the room to improve the projector picture quality, so it's not all roses. wink

Here are my stealth subs (the second one is a work in progress so not quite as discrete, yet). The small 'table' next to the guitar is the rear sub:

All the AV gear apart from the sub will be going the other side of the wall from where they are now, so only the sub showing like an oak topped end table, with the lamp on top.

Hi

Can I ask a question please, Is your screen 16.9 and how do you watch 4.3 films does it chop off the top/sides?

No, my screen is 2.35:1 so for TV type content I have black bars at the sides of the screen (which I can cover with two pieces of black velvet). Similar for 4:3 only the black bars are much bigger of course. After I bought my first screen I realised that 95% of my projector viewing content is 2.35/2.40:1, so it made sense to get a screen in that aspect ratio...make it more of an occasion compared to watching TV too I find with the extra width.

Thanks for the replies :-) The electric lift looks good value - I'll investigate that.

Cheers, D.
