Hello,

I Have an oil cooler system with radiator on my 1999 chimaera lhd, this equipement is original.
The standard oil filter for most chimaera is ref ERR3340. But for my car this filter is too big and touch the chassis. Look the pic.
What is the good reference for oil filter with oil cooler system.

Other problem :
I have a small oil leak, oozing specifically at the support of my aluminum oil filter.

It locates at a small 'cap alu "held by a pin: look pic.
My questions:
Is this small cap is removed there easily?
What is it?
Is there a gasket and what type?

I would like to take my drain to solve this problem ...

I use an oil filter from an early 2WD Sierra Cosworth with my oil cooler fitting (As specified by Neal1980 and suggested by Sardonicus here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=15&...

It is much shorter than the Rover filter

no idea.

try and find the make of the sandwich plate and contact the manufacturer.

If you don't track the car then remove the sandwich plate for now and fit the standard oil filter.

99% of these cars run without a cooler.

If the washer fits on the bit with the O ring I would think it goes there to stop the spring "digging into" the aluminium casting?

Without looking down the hole it's hard to say which way round the other piece goes unless there are any marks on it where the spring has sat?
