Ex Teacher seeking a new job opportunity !!!

My girlfriend is an ex primary school teacher. And she is seeking to return to either Teaching again or maybe something else, She has been out of teacher for a few years now and is currently doing some voluntary teaching assistant work at a primary school. Can anybody help with ideas please???
My wife did a LA sponsored 'return to teaching' course after 7 years out to look after our daughters. It was very good and she has been working part time as a Teacher/TA/HLTA (depending on the day!) at a small local school that she did here 2 week placement at, highly recommend it if there is one in your area.
But volunteering at local schools and getting on the supply register wouldn't be a bad start.

Get her hand back in and get known to the schools.
It's not a bad lifestyle either - good money for short days if you can cope with knowing if you're working that day and where at 7 - 8.30 that morning.
Probably the wrong end of the academic year to be starting though, although it will give her plenty of time to sign up with a couple of agencies and get her paperwork in order.
Once established on the supply circuit (assuming you are any good) it then makes transition to a (nice) permie position much easier.

Its a hard job sometimes, that's why she is wondering whether to return to teaching or go into a different direction and take another career path. Any ideas of other careers to take ????????????But let's not get into that debate....
What about tutoring? You pick your own hours, either visit pupils or they can come to you. My old man does a bit of this for pocket money as he's retired, tutoring maths to GCSE/A level teenagers. Pick a subject you have some knowledge of or enthusiasm for, bone up on what's needed for the relevant GCSE/A level and stick an advert in the local rag or on gumtree. It might take a couple of years/need to cover several subjects for it to reach the point of earning her a living, but it's a good bit different to being in a classroom.
Teaching is very rewarding, if money isn't the object, but returning to work is, then being a TA or HLTA would be good. Still get to make a positive impact on children, still get the holidays, with much less evening/weekend/holiday working. As a TA/HLTA with a Teaching qualification you may even get to pick up some of the short notice supply days/half days in the school too.
Failing that ED Psych or School Admin/Finance etc? or even tutoring as recommended above... even join ofsted?
