Plate change

I've recently changed cars and swopped my reg. number. Got the log book back but no copy of MOT. Lady in post office was not sure whether it should have come with the log book although doesn't need it to tax it these days.

Does anyone know if rules have changed recently or does it just come under separate cover?

Historically the MoT & replacment tax disc were done by the local DVLA office & were the first things to be received (together with replacement plate authority).

However with a recent plate change I did (local office closed) the V5 came back a week before the MoT & Disc. Looks like the V5 dept are more efficient at sticking things in envelopes.

Wouldn't worry yet.

You shouldn't need a copy of the MOT to tax a car e.t.c anyway.

It's all digital these days.

Looks like the MoT transfer guys are on a backlog, or missing them completely.

I recently did a "double-shuffle" on plates, and I received the tax discs and authorisation letters in one envelope, and two further envelopes with the two V5s, all in the same post.

No MOT though. I chased the DVLA last week, and they reckon it should have been in the envelope with the tax discs.

Worst thing is though, up until tonight, it was showing as no MOT found when I checked online with the new reg number and document reference from the new V5.

So that's 2 weeks after I received everything else that they finally did the MOT transfer. Still waiting for the actual certificate to arrive though..... :-/

I know, it's taxed now. Just chasing up the mot which appears to have been sent separately
