Is there an easy way to get the plenum top off?

On my 4.5 stepper motor housing fouls the perforated metal sheet/finisher at the bottom of the windscreen. Not an issue for now as I keep getting water in the passenger footwell so have taken the finisher off anyway as I want to re-seal the screen/screen seal.

Done a search and is seems there's not a easy way. The 3 bolts the hold the stepper motor housing are very difficult to get to so bending the finisher is the most common way.

Remove the plenum bolts and gently bend the mesh as you remove it.

Is the blended base a real imporvment in normal day to day sunday blasts? From what I read, it delivers a little more BHP at the very top end but loses everywhere else.

(Either way, it will be better than my trumpets at the moment frown)

tongue outmsl:!!!!

You paid for & were happy with trumpets that were laid sideways over the ports.....

Now tell me that everyone talking about trumpets being better is not IMAGINING it rofl

With a blended base properly welded up the possibilities & hence results are far greater than trumpets (they press in a circle & the manifold is still restrictive) as you can move the hole around ~ make it any shape you want & BLEND it down into the inlet. Do you want long & thin or short & fat ...;)

As I pointed out far easier to take the plenum off & no concerns ever about trumpets breaking free..

Blended, used one of Jools machined, very nice did some back to back testing on mine although supercharged showed a increase in mid range torques , well happy all I say is it works and think those stupid trumpets did nothing but impede air flow

I think he did some testing on a n/a car and saw similar results
