Hi,
The propeller of my rubber-band aircraft recently suffered catastrophic loss of both blades. I tried to repair it using araldite but the glue wouldn't "take" to the plastic. Superglue didn't seem to work either. Any suggestions what other glue might work? Once I can get something to stick to it I can glue on reinforcement strips and fly again.

cheers

In all fairness I would go to the local model shop (if you have one) and buy a replacement props for rubber powered aircraft don't cost much. I wouldn't glue a prop myself its just asking for trouble.

Good idea, it did vibrate a bit after I'd araldited the blades then the blades fell off which is how I discovered that they wouldn't glue.

I did a quick search on the internet to see whether I could by propellers but didn't have much luck. I'll try again...real world shopping is generally more productive but I fear I will be distracted by the shiny things in the shop!

Try here?

I'd never try to repair a prop on safety grounds alone. Trying to join something over a small area, that is under so many different loads is asking for trouble when the repair lets go.

I guess any heavy glue that might stick would upset the balance of the model too. . .not sure where you are in the world but most proper model shops will be able to sell you a new prop. Addlestone models, surrey might be worth a look via the web as a pointer
