I have already posted this in the Classic section but thought- belt and braces - post here too.

A friend Peter has this car but would like to find out more history and as he is not familiar with forums I said I would ask and pass on any information received. He has had it for 40 years and it was seen regularly around Staffordshire before that.

I know Peter too.

Its an aston DB2/4 with a unique bonnet design. It was found with the bodywork already on it, and restored with it. Who designed and made the bonnet is the mystery which needs solving. But it is a dewign feom the 50s or 60s.

Looks like its trying to pass itself off as a DB4 GT or DB4GT Zagato?

I really hope I am wrong!

By bonnet I assume you mean the entire front end. The 2/4 had a frontal hinged bonnet but you could see where that ended and the bodywork began, this seems to be a work of art.

Is the front-end aluminium or fibreglass? It's absolutely lovely... a little like a TVR Griffith, but still cloud9
