E46 M3 subframe failure - SMG only?

I was wondering whether there were any owners of Manual cars that had this issue?
the SMG box by definition puts higher stresses on the drivetrain that seems to affect CSL's as well as standard cars. Launch control is also a high stress feature.

Perhaps this is what contributes to the rear subframe cracking issue?

Just a theory.

SMG or manual cars, M3's & 318's alike have all suffered with cracks & failure.

My manual e46 M3 had the cracked subframe carrier fixed at BMW Winchester last year. (It's not the subframe itself that cracks)

Redish Motorsport in Bristol is the place to go outside of BMW main dealer/warranty I am told. Charge somewhere in the region of £1.5k from memory and seem to do a bang up job.

Had mine done at BMW bluebell stockport thank fully covered under warranty they put a new boot floor in speak to rob hes brilliant and they sorted all the paperwork with BMW and foot the 2k bill!
