Sportive riders in complete lack of common sense and respect... i wonder what they thought when the race flew past...

In my limited experience Sportive riders are a mixed bag. Some are obviously regular cyclists, under no illusions that they're in a "race", just out for a nice ride through some nice scenery. Some obviously don't ride in traffic, or they might look over their shoulders once in 60 miles. And some get a bit carried away. I've never seen quite such outrageous f

In defence to the spore riders (although one does appear to be deliberately obstructive), the race organisers have obviously only arranged closure of the road in one direction and the road racers appear to be riding on the wrong side of the road.
They're much better off having met a slow moving sportive than a fast moving lorry, which it all too easily could've been
Sportive riders are truly a real mixed bunch and some of them do, as mentioned, seem to think it's a 'win at all costs' race, when it's clearly not
However, cat 3/4 racers can also be blimmin dangerous cyclists too as they feel like lance armstrong, but ride a bike like Stevie wonder
That entire incident could've been a whole lot worse - Person to blame is the organiser IMHO (as a race organiser myself)

Still begs the question why a sportive would go on a 'temp' closed section of road or they didn't put a reliable marshal on the sign if they weren't going that way
