Who wants an original starter motor (brand new)
Discussion
Rang a company today to purchase a re-furbed starter as my old one was getting very sticky. The guy stopped doing re-furbed starters, but he had managed to get his hands on around 30 brand new starters that came out of Blackpool. I know they are rare as R-H-S so thought I would share this with my fellow enthusiasts. I don't know what the forum rules are about posting up details and prices so PM me or put me straight and Ill post up all the details of where to get them from. They are quite a bit cheaper than what the TVR specialists are selling them for!

Damn it, I've just taken delivery of a new one from Racetech. Now just need to figure out how to fit or, or who I can convince to fit it for me!Superjuiced said:
Providing u have very long thin fingers that defy traditional human mechanics it's easy. if like me u have big clumsy hands lacking the sort of coordination required put aside most of the day just to get it out.
.... and I think that I read somewhere that 4.2s are more difficult than 4.5s .....
I did mine on my 4.2 from the top but had to remove the rad expansion tank and obviously the airbox and battery. It was a very tight fit getting it in and out.
I used a supporting strap around the starter itself to take the weight whilst I tightened the bolts. It was a pig of a job and I nearly gave up a few times but eventually I got it done. I went for the Racetech upgraded version as I don't fancy doing the job again in the future!
