Accused of stealing from hire car company.

I've been accused of nicking alloy wheels and others bits of a hire car. I rented a car the same as mine. But they signed it off as okay when I took it back.

They have tried the police but I am so happy to say they aren't interested. Now they are threatening to sue me. Will they do this?

If they can prove that you have taken parts from the hire car and replaced them with worn parts from your own car, which I suspect they can seeing that they've worked your scam out, then yes it's likely you'll have your day in court to plead that 'it's nuffink to do wiv me'

If you didn't steal them they might realise their mistake or find out who did steal them and stop pursuing you. If you did steal them they might continue to come after you on principle even if not economically sensible.
