Boris looking to ban Classics from the streets of London
Discussion
As the title suggest, Boris Johnson is trying to ban classic vehicles from London's streets. Classic and Sports Car have started a petition. Wherever you are in the country or whatever your views of London, please take time to sign the petition, this sort of thing could be the thin end of the wedge.

Give us the link to the proposal so we can judge its rights and/or wrongs. I can't vote on something I know nothing about.
excellent responsehowever, I understand this has gone further and they propose that only classics running on at least 20% ethanol and with absolutely zero ZDDP in their oil will be considered for possible exemption
... and that pre-1960 cars must also have a current MoT

Thats just fine with us Northeners. Another good reason not to go to the Smoke!
Until the politi
s decide to extend their zany scheme to other major cities. Then to less major ones. Then to big towns. Then to other towns. Then to anywhere that isn't the middle of a field...it's taken another turn for the worse, from what I've heard they will be insisting that those owners that use a lead replacement product will need to always have a bottle in the car
AND - wait for this! -
to always carry recent receipts for the product to prove it's used regularly and currently

No its not boris trying to ban classics from the street of london its the EU ,its happening over there.from what i no you can only take you classic,s in to town if you pre book or only on particular days,it was the same with the MOT,s on pre 60,s cars the EU said we did,nt need one NOT the powers over here,ITs madness.Boris needs to grow some b
ks and tell them were to go.............
ks and tell them were to go.............What a load of b
ks, this has been going on for a while. If they wanted to clean up London they should sort out the old black cabs running around. Yes they are doing a good job, but the amount of black rubbish that comes out of the back of them far out weighs the very few classics you actually see running around in London.

nope, I've never heard of the guy so looked him up and now I feel insulted
I'm just spreading pub/internet wisdom
No need to feel insulted, but I suspect someone somewhere has made that up.I'm just spreading pub/internet wisdom
Not using lead replacement additive in your engine is not harmful to the environment in anyway whatsoever so why insist on using it?
are you trying to tell me that pub/internet wisdom is wrong when we all know this is how the truth has to be spread
the EU, the Government, the DVLA and the City of London have it in for many people and are out to get these people, there are lists with many PHers names on including contributors to this this thread, I've seen the lists
never mind that this subject has been gone through before and some of the statements made by some were from misunderstanding or found-less, that's what THEY want the innocent to think as they lay greater schemes against these poor people

First they came after the Londoners, but I didn't speak out because I'm not a Londoner............I'm in the North and don't currently have a classic car but I've signed the petition. Definitely thin end of the wedge.
