Which GoPro for General Holiday Usage and Car/Water Fun?
Discussion
Looking for a video camera to take on Holiday to the Caribbean so it needs to be good at general holiday videoing and also messing about snorkelling and in a rental car seeing some sights and driving along ridgeways and up mountains etc.
Everyone is telling me to 'GoPro' so which one?
Am I right in saying that unlike a conventional video camera you can't rewind and review what you've video'd?
As you'll have guessed I'm a newbie to this video malarky.
For instance, is this one any good for my requirements:

Thank you.

I have the Hero 3 Black and the video quality is awesome, just be prepared to pay Apple-like amounts for accessories and plenty of random bugs to come up.
If you look at youtube video comparions between the Black and Silver/White, you'll see a noticeable difference in quality especially in the dark. Also you get the very useful remote which is pretty much worth the price difference alone.
You can get it much cheaper elsewhere than the official Gopro site. And be aware that the Hero 4 is coming out soon.
(battery life is horrific).

You can with the Gopro app, just make sure you have a charger handy
(battery life is horrific).I've got the Hero 3+ Silver and the quality is great. Don't see the need for a remote tbh since using the wifi destroys the battery life (which isn't great to start with).
If you've got a 4K monitor setup and a PC which can edit 4K video as well as a way of showing 4K content to an audience then go ahead, personally not worth it for me. The differences between 1080p on the silver and black are negligible.

I have the black as wi fi /clever app is essential for me. Battery life is solved and extended by extra batteries! Easy.
(Wi fi as I can control remotely... http://stevecarter.com/random/IntoWinter.mov ) Can't keep running in and out!

You can also buy an additional LCD Touchscreen for the rear. It makes navigating the menu system that little bit easier and you can review, play your footage back. It's a good alternative to using the App with wifi.Drop me an email for a PH deal ;-)
