little blue reflective strips?

Hi folks,

I have seen these little blue reflective strips at the side of some roads... wondered if anyone knew what they were for? Anything to do with the police?

I think they are about 8 inches tall, about 3 inches wide, like a sticker, reflective blue, and often seen stuck low down on little poles, lamp posts etc.

I saw one right outside a police station, and another on a motorway slip road.

Any ideas, just interested really.

Possibly just to make the post, or whatever else they're stuck on, more visible?

I will try take a picky tomorrow.

If it was orange etc, I wouldn’t have thought anything of it but because its a "police blue" looking reflector, I was intrigued as to if it was there for any particular reason, maybe a marker of some sort.
