Digital volt meter

[Andav469]

Bought one of these from eBay, plugs into your cigar lighter and gives a digital readout of the volts, when you start the car up, you immediately see the volts go up as the charging system kicks in.
A very easy way of checking or keeping an eye on the condition of your battery and charging system

At £2.86 delivered, it's cheap too!
