Registered Keeper vs Owner & the BIK implications

ISTR that in the UK, the 'registered keeper' of a vehicle may not be the legal owner as 'ownership' is a separate concept.

Can an offshore co. be the registered keeper of a UK registerd car and if so, how would any obligation to pay income tax based any deemed benefit in kind materialse?

I tried to search but could only come up with this [mildy] amusing example [which may not be a true of some correspondence with DVLA!]...

I can only comment on your first point, but it does have implications for your second.

The registered keeper is just that - there's no ownership implied in the V5 doc, unlike in the US, where the 'pink slip' does define title to the car.

Here, your car is the same status as your sofa, or your telly - it's a chattel, and there's nothing special about it in terms of the determination of who owns it.
