Porsche Approved Paintwork Repairs

Back in July 2008 I took my car to the then Approved Bodywork Contractor and had the front scuttle repainted.

How long does the guarantee last on this sort of repair? Is it realistic to expect another glass-out repair after this length of time?

No indications whatsoever on the receipt that the work was done to Porsche standards but the same firm had been actively used by my local OPC and had carried out work on both my previous porkers and I was clearly led to believe that their work met a certain standard and was guaranteed for maybe (?) 10 years...

If it was repaired under the Porsche Approved Body Repair Warranty scheme you would have recieved a letter from the scheme confirming this, together with a booklet explaining the terms and conditions. The warranty lasts the lifetime of the car - providing the bodywork is maintained correctly, and is inspected annualy and the booklet stamped by a PABS.

As Boo explained above. Also, depends on what the nature of the issue is. The "guarantee" covers you for poor workmanship or finishing, that may manifest itself as paint lifting, discolouring etc. It does not explicitly guarantee that the rust will never occur again.

Your best bet is to talk directly to the bodyshop. They may take a "good will" approach and fix it for free or at a reduced rate.
