what car/facelift could pass as being a modern design if new

Just looking at the mk4 supra and I think they still look great today. I suppose the lack of facelifts means it's aged better than most. If say the e46 came out before an e92, would the e92 look dated in comparison if we turned things on their head. After all, looks are just perception after taking away the technology underneath.
The Supra's much too 90s IMO.
BMWs beyond the E46 could probably come out today if we hadn't got so used to them.
Any 00s Aston Martin, but that's cheating.
I'm thoroughly biased but I'd say this doesn't look 12 years old:
The thing is, almost every car out there has got pretty refined in terms of design and production complexity - long gone are the 90s exterior plastics - so in some ways they've all become candidates.

It's difficult and to a point subjective but to me a Mk4 Supra or E46 would not look modern if they were to come out today. Neither have modern surfacing or, less importantly, modern trinkets such as DRL's etc we've become used to.
It's interesting but you could say that white goods manufacturer's such as Honda, Toyota etc could get away with this. They have no brand identity or styling language, so you've no idea what came before it because they tend to flip flop from one sense of style to another, with the odd exception.

I can see it, but you'd have to clean it up quite significantly - all that plastic trim has to go for a start. There are then various other cues like how the bumper and body are separated; these days it's more subtle and off the horizontal, e.g.:

Oh yes it is . Other candidates are Citroen SM , Gordon Keeble , Alfa Duetto and original TVR Griffith(ie the 60s job )

Think the lights in particular, date Chimeras, Griffiths and Cerberas. Anything after that looks pretty up to date to me though, especially the Tuscan and Sag.I'll also nominate the S2 Elise. Would agree with the facelift 156 too. Always preferred the pre-facelift but the facelift definitely looks far more modern.
