Hi folks,

Pa B is off on his hols in a couple of weeks and is taking his trusty V12V along with him. 4000 miles in 5 weeks across Europe sounds like fun too!

However, he has a minor issue. His manual refers to the old (DB9 presumably?) style of tyre pressure monitoring system so doesn't relate at all to what he actually got fitted to the car. He just wants to know how to operate it incase of tyre changes etc on his travels.

AM advise that his manual must have been at a crossover stage and that section will have been updated in more recent manuals. He has asked both our local dealers and AM themselves for this excerpt in any format so that he can read it but nothing has been forthcoming.

Therefore I turn to the good people of the AM section of PH for some help. Would anyone here be able to take a picture or scan of the pages relating to the tpms system on a V12V. I understand it's the same system on all late 2012, 2013 and beyond V12V's of any derivative. The manual would need to be the 2013 version however.

To save having to host etc you can email me via my profile on here.

Many thanks in advance

James

If the car has the later "BERU" system, you can simply scroll through your car information on the end of the left stalk, and it will give you all 4 tyre pressures on the dashboard. If you type "beru tyre pressure monitoring system" into google, there will be a pdf available. Hope this helps.

Doesn't the V12V have the old style TPMS system? My V12VR does ! The interesting thing is the manual that came with my car shows the new system . Sounds like a great trip !

Silverspeed, you're absolutely right.

I was getting mixed up. Pa B advises;

"My manual shows new version (everything on the info-screen), but car has the old style box with coloured lights tucked well out of easy sight in the passenger footwell."

So he is still looking for the correct operating instructions but for the older box which AM advise should have been sorted in later editions of the manual.

Have you sought out instructions? My Vanquish has the same system but the instructions are pretty woeful.

agree with silverspeed

When I went to the factory to see my v12vr on the production line being built, in late 2012, I spotted the older style monitoring system (a box slung below the glovebox with 4 coloured lights, corresponding to coloured rings on the valves - all your friend really needs to know is this)

I was surprised as my V8S had the newer system described a couple of posts above, with an in-display readout of actual pressures. The V8V I'd had before the S had the older system, identical to that on my V12

I spoke to the technician on the line who explained to me that all V12Vs, regardless of coupe or roadster, had the older style system fitted. He let slip that the only exceptions were the 2 pedal V12Vantages, to which our mouths dropped before we then challenged the technician on the accuracy of his statement, which he confirmed, which in turn confirmed that AM were testing V12V with ASM - what became the V12VS over 1 yr later - it was very hard keeping my mouth shut !

Anyway the point is that to my knowledge, all manual V12Vs have the older style system and I suspect AML have it the wrong way round in terms of their explanation about the manuals. And I'm not sure there's any detailed explanation of how it works - it bleeps and displays the fact pressures are low on the dash & you check the colour on the passenger side box to see which wheel is affected.

EDIT: Sorry James, I never saw your last post when I was typing this

My 2012.5 V12 Vantage Carbon Edition, one of the last built, has the old TPMS system (SmartTire). And yes, the manual shows the new system. Very unfortunate and one of the few disappointments with the car.
