Going out in Le Mans
Discussion
So this is my 7th trip down, and I'm taking along my oldest friend for his first (it's also a kind of stag weekend as I can't make his actual stag night). Thing is I've only ever stayed within the track on an evening, or around it, but would like to get into Le Mans town this time if it's worth it?
So want to know how people get there, and where to go, I don't want to drive anywhere on Friday as my clutch wouldn't take a burn out, and my blood pressure wouldn't take someone trying to damage my car, or soak me through an open window... But happy to walk, taxi, bus, or whatever...
Cheers

As above, tram into the city. The tram station is easy enough to find on one of the freebie maps. Get off at Place de la République and follow the crowds. Think from my slightly blury memory its about 30 mins(?). The square itself at Place de la République has a great atmosphere around the time that the driver's parade is going on (not that I ever saw the parade!).
As above, Friday is the drivers parade in the main square, get the tram and get there for about 4.00.
The tram drops you rigt into the square too.
Grab a table at one of the bars under the umbrellas near the DJ booth and enjoy a few drinks and the atmosphere, then about 8/9 PM it will start to get a bit more lively and goes on till about midnight.

Way past midnight. bars and clubs are still rocking at 3am in town. (Great Kebabs , even the crap food in France is another level)The tram drops you rigt into the square too.

If you've never been in Town on Friday night you are missing out big time

Trams apparently run to 1am, however we have often got a taxi back as we stay in Blue Sud, which puts us a 1/2 walk from the tram end.
Last Tram back is 1.07am (From place Republique) there's trams back to the Antares stop every 30 mins or so until then. For the hard partying chaps the first one on Saturday morning is 6.00
Or just get a cab, its no distance really

Cabs aren't that expensive either - took one back a couple of years ago from Le Mans to Arnage. There's at least 1 London style black cab in LM in daily use, too. For the hard partying chaps the first one on Saturday morning is 6.00

That said, the tram back to Antares is usually a laugh, especially late on Fri after the parade, dinner, more pubs, etc. Well, it was for me.

1st timer here, how deserted is the track during the wee small hours of Saturday morning. Might have an urge to get the Mrs naked on the mulsanne
Have been around these premises for quite some time now, but yours is by far the most ridiculous question I've seen regarding Le Mans race week!Congratulations on that achievement!
