Hi,

I have a 1600 crossflow that i would like to place in my Escort mk1. I'm currently ordering a whole stack of bits to put on the engine. I was thinking about following specs:

1600 + 0.090 (83,5mm - 1660cc)
race head
244 cam
twin 40 weber DCOE + 75mm ram pipes
4.25" inlet manifold
ashley 4-1 exhaust manifold + 2" system
high pressure oil pump
facet electric fuel pump + regulator
lucas electronic ignition + omex rev limiter

Now a few questions :
- what output can i expect with this setup ?
- should i better use some 45's or what is the absolute maximum to expect from these 40's ?

Many thanks!

Check out Harris Performance Engines , if your on FB check out there page as they have just posted up there latest 1.7 x/f 193 hp 711m block standard crank , steel rods, forged pistons and running on a pair of 45,s

There well into the 12.s 1/4 times as well.....

As for your power output id guess around 110-120 hp ....

According to Burton's tuning guide, a stage 2 head with a 234 and a rejetted twin choke should be pushing around 118-120 bhp.
What parts should I consider replacing then ? 45's and a more high rpm cam ?
