Almost a supercar?Just how is a 996 GT2 'almost' a supercar. At the time of release it would batter virtually everything on the road and it's only slipped a few notches 10 years later - you have to spend some serious dough on some really current to go faster than one of these
Prices have been around this point for sometime now, agree the value they represent is very good, hence buying one two years ago. With all the talk on here of values, GT3 this GT3 that, what's this worth, less than a CS etc, wrong colour, wrong seats banter the current price that the GT2 is at is a steal or a reflection of how out if control pricing is on other models.
They are an epic car, reward you when you get things right, and also punish you when you cock it up.
One of the all time greats for a total driving experience, every trip is like an opportunity to learn more about the car.
Incredibly difficult to replace if I ever sold it, anyone thinking about getting one don't delay go for it.

GT2 is certainly a supercar, ive owned one so talking from experience.
They are an acquired taste though from a driving perspective and not for the faint hearted, mine caught me out on numerous occasions due to having cold tyres for example, aesthetically IMO they are stunning sheer road presence in abundance.
For me though i can cover ground far quicker in a 6T

They do look amazing and I considered one a while back before my 997turbo. Never drove one but would love a go in one!
From a driving perspective are they quite old school 'whoosh bang!' cars, and this is what catches people out? I can't imagine much more of a shove than mine with chrono pressed but willing to be proved wrong!

tty roads over here. I used to get out of mine after some spirited driving with sweaty palms and a twitchy arse thinking thank feck i'm still alive, my current car is quicker than the GT2 as it isn't standard and just suits the UK roads more and my needs, it has the looks of the GT2 so best of both worlds coupled with it was a damn sight cheaper.
That said it nice to know i've experienced ownership and they are lovely things.

Agree silver is great colour for such an epic car - a nice 'I'm not going to shout but check the badge on the boot' touch.
Talking of which, refreshing to see such a simple but effective boot badge, in the current era of all the text found on the back of every Porsche, which is a sad change IMO. 'GT2', is all you need to know! Direct translation - 'I have huge conkers'.
