Anybody been watching this new show on Sky Atlantic?
On on Friday at 11:05pm.
It's the 4th one, I've missed the first three!

Is he the one that used to appear on the Jon Stewart show?. If it is him he is quite funny, but then that may have been down to Stewart's writers

Hopefully the weekly format will prevent it from being just a Daily Show clone.

Can't believe I've missed three. Seen no adverts.
Also, see that it has changed slot.
I hope Sky know what to do with this.

Also only just realised it was available over here this week. Knew he had the show as they talk about it on his weekly podcast (The Bugle) thought the show was quite amusing. Very similar to the podcast but having added visual gags makes it great. he will have to get Andy on to do some pun runs hehe

It's good. Although it is similar in politics and style to Stewart, it is different and definitely Oliver's own show. The serious bits are longer form and they dont do mick taking interviewees, JO just uses clips of the main players on the subject to make his points, e.g. Texan govenor saying 0.004% voter fraud is a major crime, executing prisoners doesnt worry him. He's already tackled the death penalty & is still going so must be doing something right.

His piece on Sepp Blatter is 13 minute rant of beauty http://mashable.com/2014/06/09/john-oliver-tells-u...

As I can no long watch the Daily Show on-line (a problem with Comedy Central's website) I have been watching J.O.'s show and laughing my ass off. Excellent stuff.

Edit to add Sky linky.

I've got some of this in the last few weeks, I assume it's a repeat on after Penny Dreadful, and it appears to be very funny. Next week I'll be looking to watch it all.

I'm really enjoying this show. Not a bad episode yet.
I don't agree with everything but he is quite a likable host.

He's brilliant.

The 'episode' about Net Neutrality is great, but this is my favourite so far - with Stephen Hawking

The stuff about inheritance tax and corporations was spot on, very funny.

Really like this show, remember him being on the Daily Show and also on Mock the Week many years ago. The FIFA episode this week was excellant, i wonder what next weeks show will be like knowing that Blatter has resigned. Perhaps he will have to drink that Bud Lime laugh
