GRIFF FLAT BATTERY HOW DO I GET IN?!

Hi I have recently got a Griff 500 (fab) and have suffered my first flat battery! The doors are now locked and I can't get in to jump it.

Any help appreciated. and no I am not a thief trying to break into one parked on the street!!!

Not being funny but this is your first post. Will be happy to help if you can prove it somehow though.

Did you buy it from a dealer?

Private purchase, first posting, don't know any PHers (yet) so pretty stuffed really!! Great start (or is this another flat?!)
How I prove it who knows, I can describe the car in every detail if that's what is needed but that would prove nothing.

Appreciate the concern but fine line between that and trust.

Surely any thief would not go on a public forum to enquire about breaking and entry, they would just slice open the rear screen and take the roof off!

Thanks Yellow Peril, I will try although he never mentioned a flat battery. Another thought...if I was a thief stealing it from the street how would I know the battery was flat?!

Well a thief would say the battery was flat even though it isn't. That way (s)he would learn how to gain entry by different means.

I don't know anyone of sound mind that would purchase a TVR without taking out AA or RAC membership!

When you do get into it and begin the push start, you may want to video it and post the resultant film to PH.

I have to say,

1 Hello and welcome - you have just started on the the road to both pain and pleasure by owning a griff.

2 my griff used to be a real pain and wouldn't let me in half the time, and the immobiliser worked whenever it felt like it as did the alarm (although always in an 'on' condition) so if theives managed to get in AND start it then I considered them to be better men than me !

To get in to a griff flat battery you'd need to re-inflate it first, then carefully open up taking care not to spill any acid. The electrodes would be damaged anyway so I see little point.

Seriously, ring the guy you bought it off. Most owners know the technique but are not happy to share unless you are well known

Hi Marcus, the guys on here are usually very helpful, but in this case are adopting the correct approach, you never know, they may one day be refusing to offer up the secret method to the guy that is trying to steal your Grif.
