Titanium CX bike. Just WOW WOW WOW

Went to pick up my new commuter bike. A titanium framed kinesis tripster atr. Never had titanium before. Just amazing. Brilliant on road, paths, fields, cricket pitches, bridle ways. I'll be swapping tyres for different functions ie fast road vs commute vs off road. I genuinely don't see the need now for my fast road bike, my retro steel Sunday rider or my old alu frame commuter.

If anyone is looking for a cross bike or a road bike or a commuter bike do not buy in any material other than titanium. Totally sold. Now I just need to find a 29er full sus in titanium to replace my yeti sb95 carbon that I bought a few months ago!

Cheapest I can see the frameset for is 1,259.95 at http://www.merlincycles.com/decade-tripster-atr-ti... How much does a full build cost, if you don't mind me asking?

I think I paid 2395 for a complete build which consisted of 105 group set FSA chainring and crank handlebar and stem and kinesis crosslight wheels. Pictures are good but don't do it justice. In the flesh it great. Can't get over how light it is. Can't get over how well it rides. One day all bikes will be made like this. The great thing is it has clearance for upto 45 mm tyres which means I can put my studded tyres on in winter when it snows again!

I'd be surprised if a CX build had anything bigger than a 50 up front.

I'd get a Ti Hardtail. To the best of my knowledge no one has made a decent Ti full sus to date. You want rigidity in a full sus design and that is not Ti's strength.

Back on topic - Kinesis do make some cracking bikes. My winter MTB is a kinesis and it's a lovely thing.

frame and fork. you can get the frame and fork for 1250
