Hello all,

We were in Blu Sud last year and had numbered pitches and it was great.

However this year they sold out WAY earlier and despite booking it at the same time as last year, all that was left was un-allocated Beausejour.

Due to work commitments and one of our team only getting back from abroad the day before we cannot get down till Thursday afternoon (were on the 7.30 AM Dover-Calais) and were bricking it that we wont find a decent pitch.

So im asking the PH masses, if anyone is also camping in Beausejour in un-allocated and going down Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday early morning, and fancies a crate of beer for your efforts, can you reserve us a space next to/near you (providing of course you also want to be at the track end and have some common sense and dont pick a pitch that will flood;0)?

We have 4 non numbered pitches (4 cars, 8 people and 2 big tents).

If youre interested in helping a fellow PHer out please let me know on here or drop me a PM.

Thanks smile

We're on the same timetable... It won't get difficult until Friday.... Pay attention to your route from the motorway. If practice is on it pays to approach from the south via Arnage.

Last year we were in 3x cars, and our car arrived @ blue sud somthing like 3 hours before the other two.. an we were together until we hit traffic. Their sat nav took them through the North, we nipped round to Arnage and up, was a delight.

of course, they had the tent, so whats a guy to do but sit and have some beers........ right?

Even though the pitches are unallocated, I'm not sure you will get away with staking a claim on 3-4 empty pitches, particularly in a desirable end of the site.

Security, while being lax in many ways, are probably not going to let people just go ahead and stake out 3-4 times their original pitch size without any camping passes...

Surely just a friendly "the rest of our group are joing us tomorrow" would keep them quiet?

They cant expect a group of mates to camp seperately just beacuse they dont come together.

To be honest, the unallocated pitches were always very much a first-come process, and desirable ones are snapped-up pretty sharpish during Tue-Thur. There will be a lot of other campers who want good pitches in a prime part of the campsite early on in the week. This is the very nature of unallocated camping at LM, and has been the way for at least as long as I've been going.

Good luck with it, but I don't think you will have much joy with convincing security/other campers of the right to cordon off a space for 4-5 cars (~150sqm) with one ticket.

As folk say arriving Thursday afternoon you should be fine. Remember that this year Pincenardiere is part of BSJ so instead of heading straight in to the far depths hang a left through the gate in the centre of this view http://goo.gl/maps/O6WN7

I expect they will have removed the earthen bank so you wont need a 4x4 to get in. biggrin

Hang right when you get in towards porsche curves viewing area. There will be plenty of space on Thursday and close to track. If you use the lane past the allotments to walk to the paddock then it's no further really than the pitches around the entrance that fill up first

While we are talking about BJ, for the first time we are talking a caravan. I believe there is a chemical disposal manhole by the loo's where you come in, but what do folks do about the grey water?

Lucky enough to be pre-booked into Porsche Curves as a package splash out. However, after many years of BSJ arriving on Thursday afternoon (following a quick shop at Super-U and a beer in Arnage - "spin your wheels") we learned to head straight through the site (staying right) and aim for the area just before the woods (or in the woods is as good). Less busy there and more space. Once security see your window ticket just tell then you're already pitched up and down 'the other end' - they're none the wiser and don't really care...

OK its sounding positive, ill try and follow some of the advise above and hopefully get somewhere.

Might send all 4 cars different directions and see who can find the best

We turn up late fri at Bsj every year and never have a prob. If the weather is bad they will close off part of the camp site and space is tighter but we still managed to get about 8 tents on together no probs. really wouldn't worry about it.

Wouldn't send everyone individually to find a spot as you'll then spend most of the night trying to find each other.

I've been in Beausejour for the last few years running and we've had no problems with setting up camp. We have stayed in exactly the same place both years and it is a slight walk from the track but only 100m extra or so, not far from PC at all. Go past speedchills and continue to the end of the track, always spots there even Friday midday. (clean toilets and showers too compared to some).

If this is actually an awful place to camp, please somebody let me know asap! Maybe we'd been lucky with the weather..

You may well have been fortunate with the weather, as BSJ is an absolute pig in the rain, as drainage is next to useless.
