Well i have a very nice omega Planet Ocean watch with orange crock strap
I thought it about time it had a service so had it sent off to Omega for the service. The price and time frame was as expected but i wasnt prepared for them to tell me the Crock strap was a non genuine item.I then went on to explain that THE strap had been bought and fitted by one of there own boutiques in London and had receipt as proof. They then sent me an apology and said the item is genuine. The problem i have is that they must of had some doubt as to the straps authenticity in the first place it has wound me up.

Ok, not a nice experience, but mistakes happen?

They do but why would they suggest the strap as a counterfeit in first place without proper investigation if i didnt have the receipt i would be in a right situation.

That really is very peculiar... and I'd want a further explantion, not an apology!

Might have been a mix up, but just a thought, would anyone have had the opportunity to "switch" straps with your one?

I was less than impressed by the Swatch.....sorry, Omega UK service centre when I owned my SMP, and mine was there twice (for a total of 13 weeks) during it's intial warranty period for fixing the same fault rolleyes

I guess i will have to just make do with there shabby apology
6 weeks for a service is terrible and to tell me about the strap just wrong
I am just thankful i had the strap changed at Omega and kept the receipt.

I've had too many bad experiences with sending watches back to the manufacturer (with the notable exception of Breitling) that I no longer both - I send them to a trusted specialist instead.

Why does it matter to them, though?

What if I decide to put my watch on a non-Omega strap? My watch, my choice.
