Fiesta ST
Suzuki Swift Sport

Driven both several times but finding it hard to decide between them. Not on pricing, ST is more but will hold its value more so. Same with running costs - very similar tax and economy and insurance too as I'm an old fart. Also not concerned with the badges or perceptions.

It's more between the Fiesta having better performance and interior, but the Swift (imo) handling just as well, looking better on the outside, feeling more 'individual', and having a lot more kit as standard.

Don't know if I would miss the power of the Ford if I went for the Suzuki, or the kit and all round 'fun feel' of the Swift if I bought the Fiesta?

NB Again, because I'm a 40+,old fart I'm not getting either for traffic light GPs or kudos points.

Assuming you can afford both.

You are a long time dead.

Pick the one you enjoy.

For me.. Fiesta hands down. However my mrs was in a similar situation after selling her r56 cooper s.. She ended up getting an abarth 595.. Had tons more "character" than the rivals.

I've recently ordered a swift sport and I did test drive the ST as part of my decision making.

For me, unless you're a real hardcore driver who will regularly push the cars right to their limits at speed then you can forget about the power deficit and go for the Suzuki its just so much fun to drive smile

I owned a 08 zetec s which I picked over a st.
I now own a 09 swift sport and its by far a more fun drive.
My view was that the sport does not feel short of power at all due to its gearing,The ST when I drove them before I bought the fiesta and again before I bought the swift may have had more power but it didn't feel like it.

Swift.

No other reason than if it's good enough for the Ring rentals....

PS reading your post again it does sound as though its just the performance that is making you consider the ST. yeah it is quick but you would soon get used to that extra power and what then?

as you've driven both you will know the swift is no means a slow car per se,depends how much 0-60 bothers you I think.

Personally I think the Suzuki looks awful but if that is the one you prefer the look of, get it - because you are the one that has to look at it on your drive each day.

I actually think its a great looking car. Funny isn't it how we are all different! Good job too though or the roads would be very boring! smile

I'm probably not that much help as I've not driven either of the sporty versions, but if you do a lot of motorway miles I found the Fiesta quieter than the Swift (some of that might be that the Swift was on winter tyres).
