My wife has a 2000 bettle 2.0ltr. it seems to blow out a lot of black smoke more like carbon than oil as it is not buring to much. The car runs fine but at about 60 mph it gives a little judder and some times in the lower rev range.
Any Ideas whats causing this.

Black smoke is excess fuel. I'm not sure what the injection system on one of those is like but maybe there's a faulty fuel injector or a sticking cold-start valve or something.

Did she put diesel into it Instead of Petrol?

Could be a number of things, and as Andrew Noakes says, is most likely due to over fueling.
I saw a car behave in a similar manner - running super rich, and massively over fueling-washing the bores down, when it's MAF sensor had failed.
