As much as I like the idea of a Sagaris.

The 997S all day long and then some days I've just made up...

Entirely different cars, the 360CS is a better comparison to the Sagaris I'd say as its harder edged and more compromised.

Why 997 when you can DB9 or AMV8?

Agree entirely, but the DB9 and AMV8 arent on the list of choices.

Assuming £50K to spunk on a track toy, I'd have an R550 Evo over the Sagaris as well...

I'm right with the 'emotion' of TVR's its the reality that upsets me...

Sagaris = 50k
997s = 70k

360CS = 125k ?
DB9 = shed loads more
AMB8 = 80k + 3 years waiting list

Just between the 2 cars mentioned please

997, so much more confidence in it being a car that can be used every day in all conditions. Resale easy and value will be higher.

Sagaris.

I'm an individual, not a sheep.

Both have their + and -

Porsche
+ build quality
+ resale
- lack of character
- original purchase price

TVR
+ individuality
+ performance
- resale
- practicality (ground clearances, etc)

Sagaris at £50k + Cheap 3-Series at £20k does the same thing and puts a smile on your face, or M3 at £40k and Radical at £30k for even bigger smiles

Sagaris of course, or a Tuscan S. Still 20k difference is quite a lot.
So even better: a Typhon (when it becomes available), should be about the same price range.

The Porker every time
It'll start first time everytime you want it, when the cupholder fails the local Porsche centre will whip it in, give you a nice BMW for the day, and it'll be fixed by teatime
Every time you get in the TVR it'll be a 50/50 on it starting, if you complain to the dealer about bits falling off, he'll laugh at you and ask whether or not you've ever had a TVR before, it's 'character' the engine after 10 years of development still has a huge black cloud over it, and if (or should that be when ) it goes bang your dealer will tell you it'll take 10 weeks (usually just at the begining of our 10 week summer) to fix, and you don't need a loan car do you, as this obviously your second car anyway, is someone coming to pick you up?
Of course if you buy the Porsche everyone will hate you though

I prefer my choice.

Buy a Griffith and have a 997TT on order.

997S is for the City boys.
