Neither.
Get something that is distinctive, interesting, exists, and is likely to be in your possession to use: Maserati Gransport or Noble M400.
Would agree that the 997s is a tad dull, but a hugely capable car. However, the Sagaris could never be said to be lacking in distinction, interest or existance.
The problem with TVR in the past is that they use their customers and dealers for their R and D. Having owned a Tuscan for 9 month, (bought brand new), I alway noticed the same Tuscans, (quite a number),also back at the dealership that I regularly visited when collecting my car because it had broken down, (7 times in 9 month!!). I haven't time to list all the small and not so small faults that also regularly occurred in between breakdowns.
If you would like a car that is properly engineered, just as fun, faster, (in the real world not what you read in magazines), then a porsche is you best bet....it is easy to get seduced with buying something British and TVRs do look exciting and sound great but their not much chop if you have to live with one or want to drive fast. Try driving a TVR fast on a greasy road and you will know what I mean.
Had my GT3 three years and done 53,000 mile all over Europe. Apart from two clutches and a snapped bonnet cable not one thing has gone wrong. Not even a sqeak or rattle!! How many TVR's could do this mileage without problems??
