We'll, so far the chim is doing my nut right in. I've owned 6 various TVR's all were older, with lots more miles and no trouble..

I decide to buy a 30000 Mile garage queen that has never been out in the rain that is turning into a right drama queen......

It's booked in on Tuesday to have a sporadic (loud) metallic clonk from midway underneath looked at, along with the fact it clicks several times before it starts (I have a mod wise kit to fit however don't hold out much hope, and now the bloody wipers have stopped (well ish) working, any pointers for that repair appreciated....

Other than that it's a beautiful show condition unmarked example that Baldrick himself specced from new (that explains it maybe biggrin)

Seriously if anyone wants to swap me with a more well used / ranted example then please be in touch. I seriously think I'm far more suited to that type of TVR

As much as it irks, I'm also tempted to look at 911's too irked

Sorry to hear your woes bloke but sure they sound minor and you will get them sorted soon. However, this has the potential to stir up some old and tired views coffee
As for the GT beetle thing nono

Stick with it mike, the smiles when it's working will soon make you forget the woes when it wasn't!

The wipers usually fail due to the park switch this one cheap and easy job to replace.

You have my number if you need help/advice

I had a metallic clonk noise from a similar area. Turned out to be perished rubber around the exhaust mount.

Thanks chaps biggrin my toys are back in the cot now, and yes cheers Paul, I'll have a fiddle and if it goes horribly wrong I'll ring thumbup and I'm hoping the clonk is indeed a mount or something ....

Have a look at the clonking noise before you buy anything so that you can buy the switch and anything else from the same place in one go, the postage price pisses me off at the regular tvr places considering the price of the parts smash

Will do chaps, it's literally just booked in for the garage to have a gander....
However, I seem to have read somewhere that brake lights and wipers are on the same relay?
Guess what, I've been driving around with no brake lights yikes
Off to search now unless anyone has already done this....

I think the bloody thing is posessed biggrin

The saga continues ..... I have the wiper motor a technical tap with a hammer which actually made it move a little, so the next job is to remove the cover and give it a clean up. I'm presuming it isn't packed with grease but will need greasing?

Also, I've checked the brake light fuse, that's fine so next stop is brake switch under the wheel. Any idea what the parent make is? I've tried searching for one but no results so far

If the brake light switch is the issue then take it apart and just clean the contacts, a very easy job. i.e. it's cheap and nasty !!!!

Any sorry to hear that you garage queen is playing up, I bought a virtually one owner 20,000 mile 1999 face lift and to date after 2 years has not been a problem (Oh dear I'm going to regret this statement!)

Off back into the garage to play with the Ducati TT formula 2

Brake light switch is from a peugeot 205 not sure if peugeot still stock them though, they are easy enough to take apart and clean/repair.

Before you repair/replace it - simple test is to touch the two wires going to the switch together and check if you have brake lights - if not the switch isn't the issue!

Well, that's two things....brake lights working now and the sporadic metallic clonk appears to be the exhaust hitting the chassis iccasionally. All the suspension components have been checked and all are fine biggrin just the wiper motor to strip down now!!

That's great to hear Mike. Even with a Tvr it's usually something logical.
