Sorry if this is a question that gets asked regularly, I had a quick google but couldn't really find a definitive answer for what I'm actually asking!

I know LPG cars aren't allowed on Eurotunnel, and from reading their site it appears as long as you declare it, you can take gas cannisters in motorhomes / caravans on.

So, what's the situation with little camping gas cannisters for camping hobs / stoves in car boots?

Cheers,
Rich

No problem with camping gas, even the big canisters for caravans/motorhomes, it's allowed as long as they are turned off or disconnected.

Have a look at the information sent through with your camping tickets if you're on one the main sites, there is something on there about small camping stoves not being allowed this year - a bit confusing though, because they'll allow larger gas bottles for patio heaters etc...

At a guess, it's about trying to prevent a repeat of the fire in BSJ a couple of years ago that took out a car or two and a load of tents.

This has been discussed on other threads and the only thing that is effectively banned is large gas bottles not the little canisters for camping, and even then if they are properly stored in campers etc they are allowed
