Any reason why I should not use hylomar blue for rockers?

will save me a trip into town

What are you supposed to use? My rockers have black sealant, like RTV on them. I would say blue hylomar was a bit temporary, but it might be fine, I don't know, first time of doing this job on this engine

Engine build manual states silicone sealant, just not found which type yet

I used either loctite 5910 or 5920 last time. Can't remember which but was pretty well stuck.

Just to finish my own thread. I used loctite 5910 last time and 5980 this time from a fancy aerosol dispenser (halfrauds ran out so had to go with expensive option).

It seems that Hylomar blue is good for stuff with tight tolerences (designed for aero engines) but not as good as rtv for sealing stuff like rocker covers.
