After driving in the rain yesterday the boot wouldn't release complete with suitcase inside which made me popular with the Mrs! smile The boot switch is working but the latch just isn't releasing.

So I'll try it again and see if it's decided to work but I think I need the secret entry method if someone could kindly PM me? I have not needed this so far in my 3 year ownership! Many thanks.

Hey Bigadz,

since nobody else had replied i'll tell you what happened to me.

I had the car laid up in the garage for a few years. I got it out a couple weeks ago and fired a new battery in. The car fired up straight away. Unfortunately none of my doors or boot lid were working.

Turns out that in all three cases the solenoids had jammed. passenger door and bootlid were jammed in the close position so neither would open and the driver door was jammed open so the door wouldnt close.

I'll PM you the way into the boot and then press the badge button. If you hear the relay going but no thump in the boot just left of the latch (as you look from the back) then maybe you have the same problem.

Solenoids themselves can be got from maplin relatively cheaply, cant tell you the part off hand as my pal had a central locking kit sitting about and i pillaged all three solenoids from it.

hope its of some help and maybe a few others will offer some other advice if this isnt the case

There is a cable to the latch from the solenoid, this is the normal issue, it is reachable by censored.

You must obviously have gained access to the boot in order to do this.
