Has there been a "Super Noble" yet for racing?
Discussion
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if Noble has made a one off racing prototype yet. I was thinking a carbon fiber body, aluminum frame with titanium rivited and bonded to it. It wouldn't cost much more to produce than a standard chassis (even triple the cost would be cheap). Subtract all sound deadening, AC, Radio, etc. It could end up weighing less than 900Kg easily. Add a race motor in the 550 hp range and you have a world beater that would still cost less than a GT3RSR or F360 Stradale. It seems to me that a car like this at Lemans or Daytona 24 hour would bring alot of good press. It could also be streetable as the M600. If people will pay $400,000+ for the Saleen S7 This would again be a Noble bargain.
What do you think?

I don't really think it is all that nuts.
Body- Substitute Carbon Fiber for fiberglass and leave out the coremat. This could happen in an existing mold or a mold that is nearing the end of its usefullness. Replace all glass with perspex Cost? Cheap! Weight saving? 30+ kilo's?
Chassis- Aluminum instead of steel. The jig is there just use a heavier wall aluminum instead of steel and reinforce critical areas. Cost for metal substitution- Cheap weight saving? 50+ kilos?
Titanium instead of aluminum sheets- not hard to do or expensive the advantage is strength of Titanium over aluminum.
Engine- 550 HP is not really a big deal on a twin turbo race motor. Adjust the wastegates to hold 1 bar through redline and you will be most of the way there.
Dump all non-race items FREE! Weight savings 20+ kilos.
It might be a bit nuts in that it would be more than anyone needs outside of a racetrack but it would be a racecar. Ever heard a race driver say he wished the car was heavier and had less power? (917 Porsche not withstanding @900Kg w/1100HP)

Thanks AMG,
I have been known to be a bit off. I was the neighborhood kid that when given a bow and arrow shot it straight up and walked away....
