Mad speedo

Well it is sweeping the dial and going from 40mph to 180 mph and back again all at the same road speed.
I have cleaned the sensor well today and to no avail. Even sweeps on startup !

What do you think ?

Mine has been doing similar. It is currently in being serviced. I suggested the sensor might need cleaning but they thought it more likely to need a new one. I might know the answer next week if they have bolted it all back together.

Bit of a long shot but have you had a new alternator fitted?

Same symptom on mine plus flickering lights and lines through the display. Turned out to be a badly refurbished unit rather than the new one I'd been charged for

Ah your nearly back on the road then.Do you let me know if it is just a new sensor. Otherwise I will have to hunt about more

I had the same problem, turned out it needed a new speed sensor.
