USB 2.0 4 port Hub??

I need one! I have a shitty slow one and some of my high speed bits and bats are not happy running through it. Anybody got any good recommendations???

Either D-Link or Belkin. Both do powered 4 way USB hubs which should meet your needs for under £20.

I think your computer needs to have or be configured to run the high speed USB connections. I bought a Belkin High Speed Hub the other day but it will not run at high speed, only 'normal' speed......whatever that is.

Quite correct in that you will only be able to run at full speed if your PC supports the USB 2.0 spec, which new ones should. If your PC is more than a year old then it will probably be USB 1.1 spec which runs much slower.

If a USB 2.0 hub is plugged into a USB 1.1 system then it will still work but at the lower speed and Windows XP will give a warning about this. It is ok to ignore the warning and carry on at the lower speed.

USB 1.1 runs at 12Mb/s whereas USB 2.0 runs at 480Mb/s so as you can see there is quite a difference.

www.aria.co.uk - I just got a Belkin 4 port powered USB2 hub from them for £8.
