And not in a Rolf Harris Stylee...
Currently have a pocket pod running off the mains, but it doesn't half interfere with the amp (Vox Pathfinder 10). Any ideas as to how to cut out the hum - the minute I take out the mains adapter from the pod, the hum disappears.
I bow to folks superior knowledge.

There's not enough information there on which to make a diagnosis. The presumption is that either the amp is faulty, or the adapter, or there is something wrong about the way in which they are being used.
Is there a guitar plugged in to the amp? Does the interference reduce when the volume on the guitar is turned down? Have you tried a different guitar?
These are just some of the questions, and the following questions will depend on the answers obtained. Try some experiments and see if you can work out which is faulty, and then repair or replace it.

I get this every day at work; The power supply/electricals are most likely to be causing you problems. It's not guaranteed to be the fault, but since the problem disappears when disconnected, you can certainly assume it is at fault!
Try plugging it into a different socket on a different circuit, see if it helps. If not, try a different building.
Are you using an official Line 6 power supply?
Do you get the hum/buzz when listening to the POD via headphones?
Are your cables correct? Yes there are different types, "Anything" with a jack plug is not necessarily correct.
