One of the differences in ownership in the cars mentioned here is running costs. Maser Indy's are few and far between, although some main dealers will do a deal to bring it nearer an Indy. Even so a minor is 600 and a major 1k, plus the other odds and sods they discover.

Clutches are a talking point and tend to last 20-30k depending on use, but my neighbour's 996 C4S was on its third at 90k.

Another big difference is that a 30k 997 or M6 will be worth nearer 20k in 18 months, whereas GS prices seem to have not moved for a couple of years, and might even rise slightly if the export rate to Oz picks up again. At least that's how I justified mine to the Mrs smile

Having just got back from Le Mans MotoGP and a trip along the Loire, it was quiet, comfy, and trouble free just like the trip to Inverness last year. The car got positive comments everywhere, even from the Porsche owner's wife in the hotel wink and every morning was a frisson of excitment when I pressed the START button (followed by relief as it burst into life).

And the major advantage? - you can seat 4 adults in comfort in without having to remove any of their limbs. If only it came in a manual.
