I can Hardly believe it, I left the chim in my mates garage last night as we trecked upto Oulton park and today I get back to find the Bonet and wing have a bloody great scratch were one of his mechanics must have hit it with something.
There denying it, it's outrageous and I'm broken hearted, I've spent the kids inheritance on this freàking car and now this,
I've never had so much pain over any car I've ever owned, my mate won't accept responsiblity.
Other than crack his skull what am I supposed to do now!!!
I know it's not the cars fault but I'm starting to think it's a jinx and no matter what I do this car is going to fk me up. I've had enough of this madness.
The car came to me with a dark cloud over it and now it's raining it's terror over me. I'm a tough fhcker but I can't take another day of it. Anyone want a 4.6 Chim. Be carefull it will destroy you but you can gladly have the crap thing for 20,000, lol lol lol, aaaaaaaarrrrrrrghhhhh

Deep breaths Alun.

We all go through this and those that stick with it are patient saints I reckon.

Thanks Peter. I'd rather someone pull my toe nails with pliers.
Why can't people just be honest.

I'd take a picture but it hurts my eyes looking at it,
If I don't go to heaven after all this there's no justice.

I'm in shock, oh and my mates about as fast as a double decker bus, useless bugger.
6 secs off the pace, I did everything possible to get the car right today, I know TCR Racing very well, their top mechanic helped me to get the set up just right and still he's miles off.
I told him to get fking going or get out the car and he jumped up 10 seconds, lol.

Anyway I'm going to the garage in the morning with a great hammer in my hand!
Deep breaths,,,, your right it's not worth it, wise words.

There are a few threads running at present where our beautiful sounding, sexy looking chims are trying the owners patience...

What you have to try and think to get over this one is that your lovely Chim was just in the wrong place at the wrong time... It did't actually do anything wrong.

Any car you left close to someone being careless would have the same result...

Annoying and costly and leaving bad air with your mate is obviously a banghead but try best you can to remember all the smiles and joys she has given.

I know these words won't right the wrong and I feel your pain as I have done reading the other threads where their patience is also running close to boiling point..

PS... I had one of these moments a few months ago shouting at it asking WHY?? WHY Me ...... But we are in love againlaugh

TVRJAZ, that last statement made me laugh, top man, either were all saints or nutters.
Thanks for some lateral thinking. I'm feeling a bit more human again. Two hours ago I wanted war.
I better take up meditation, I'm sitting on the floor with my legs crossed singing Harry Crishner songs( spelling!!!) sorry.

I used to argue that British cars are great but I'm wavering.
The irony is my car is flying at the moment, engine is fantastic and so is the rest of it,for something like this to happen is inexplicable.
It's just a careless act but it's the denial that's infuriating, I spent over 4k on the bodywork a couple of years ago. You can't win some days.

I just hope my mate/ mechanic sees sence in the morning.

His motor trader's policy should cover it. Suggest he makes a claim.

These words explain everything Alun....

It seems at times we can do nothing when someone does't have the Balls to own up to their stupidity.

And go to bed after keep reading this bit.. " my car is flying at the moment, engine is fantastic and so is the rest of it"

Anthony if you knew the guy you'd raise an eye brow!
His mechanics don't even have papers, it's a disgrace.
See the thread on A900ss pathetic trumpet work,
That's the sort of thing going on there all the time, I'm not holding out much hope as he was trying to suggest it was already like it, he's knows me very well and should know I wouldn't make up such nonsence.
I'm overreacting maybe but I don't think so.
It's my pride and joy etc it's like someone feeling up my girl,
In really trying to keep some humour but Im at my wits end today.
I used to have a rock solid belief in my abilities but I'm not sure anymore.
I'm rather childish in that I think if I give this car enough love it will love me back but just like a girl I once had, it wants someone bigger than me.
No in fact the car hurts me more than that tart, lol lolil lol lol
Thanks boys, I'm feeling better already, Alun

Cheers Jas, I don't know what I'd do if Pistonheads failed, I'd have gone insane ages ago.
I just want to get my car right then come and enjoy all you guys and your cars too.
Your right I need a good nights sleep.
If I'd known about this earlier I would have dragged my mate out of his MX5 and ripped it a new arse around Oulton park!
Enough already, boring boring.
Thanks Anthony for the business logic. I must stay calm tomorrow no matter what happens.

Oh something positive to say, I measured my brake pedal up yesterday. I'm going to make the pedal wider so I can brake with my left foot without having to move it so far from the clutch.
I like to squat the car with my left ft on the brakes as I'm still on the throttle, smooth transition etc, I use the right ft while I drop a cog, then back to the left ft it's really hard to do and I find with the thin brake pedal it's almost impossible to do at high speed.
entry speed is massive if you can get it right. I'm thinking aloud again!!!
Goodnight gents and thank you for some common sence. Alun

Have you tried turning the brake pedal so its inclined, eg I set mine at 1-2oclock so left toe or right ball (of foot!) can feather the brake.

It's odd, isn't it? We break something mechanical, we fix it with a shrug.
As soon as bodywork is involved, we get upset, feel that our loved one has been violated, keep going and looking at the damage, etc.

Keep calm but very firm tomorrow. I would come along as support, but am committed to work. Take a firm friend with you.
This guy is no friend of yours, he's a garage owner who has damaged your car. He has insurance for damage to customers cars. He needs to claim on it now. Hope it goes well.

That's a good idea Spend, I think it's more to do with confidence why I want a fat pedal, I'll have a go at your suggestion and see how it feels.

Anthony your a real gent, you surprise me on a regular basis, what a guy.
My friend ( associate) is loaded, he's never took responsiblity for stuff like this, I can't believe he tried to argue the toss with me last night.
I've got to stay away today, he's so insensitive I'll knock him out!
I now sound as bad as him.
How do I remove this thread, it's just sickening and I shouldn't bother you chaps with it.

He might just surprise this morning but knowing him as I do ?
I sometimes think the only people who can be successfull in this country are cold hearted business men.
One good thing, for all his money he's never been able to get near me on track, he's done 80 odd laps round the ring, Monza, Zolder, every track in the country and still can't turn it on.
He wanted me to run his race car for him but I ain't being around a guy coming 15th and blaming everything but his lack of ability, yes your right he's hardly a friend if he can't or won't resolve this stupid situation.
Thankyou guys for taking the time to offer support.

X10 Good luck. This morning your loaded mate will have reflected and be more amenable after investigating who was it in his garage who caused the damage. His insurance should cover for the claim, unlike trolley damage in a Tesco car park.

EGB is correct - I have often found with difficult clients that if they are stty one day, then they are usually more polite the next.

Go in there with the attitude "Hi, now what are we going to do about my car? The damage happened while we were out at the races, would you mind claiming on your trader's policy?" so that you are not backing him into a corner.

He knows he and his staff are in the wrong, so given his nature, blame is only going to aggravate the situation and get him behaving badly. He's an arse, but that's not relevant. Get the car fixed at his expense, then have nothing more to do with him.

Corrected for typos.....confused

Qbee for PM. It's all I can do. I do over react and the scratches/Chips/ are not that bad but it's right through the paint so it's still a right mess.

I'll turn on the charm and see if I can find part of his better nature.

That's made me cry Dave. I could hardly focus on the words.
I do have a sneaky feeing the tosser who did it to mine probably enjoyed it.
The responses of kill kill kill are my base feelings too,
Your scratches have just reminded me of the night when some scratched 27 cars in my street including my 1979 Jag XJ6. The roof, boot, and all along one side of my car.
I loved that car but this time I'm actually shaking with rage, temper and pure hate for the wker.
It' hurts even more than that encounter, I'm inconsolable and even with all that good knowledge on body repair I wouldn't dare touch the thing.

As I suspected my so called mate isn't prepared to do anything. I told him I'd go down the garage with a wrench and shatter the wkers shoulder he said go ahead, what a tt.
I've also told him I won't let it go of it until he takes responsibility for his work force, shrugs his shoulders and walked off!

I've seen his true colours, what can I really do, not a lot.

You live and learn.

By the wayDave that's lovely colour you have there mate.
