brakes are driving me crazy

seems my breaking rear braking system is a hybrid what have we in the parts bin setup

any way i need some help i bought S28J10046 Wheel Cylinder from rachtech which i believe are metric can anyone confirm ?


it looks like the main brake pipe line from the front to the back finishes in an imperial connection(changing this would be a nightmare) as the goodridge hoses don't fit

so i need from the cylinder a metric a metric brake pipe and a custom hose from metric to imperial or

a metric to imperial copper pipe and an imperial to imperial flexible hose

also the new trailing arm doesn't have any brake pipe fittings on it whats the best way to secure the solid pipe to the arm

Wheel cylinder should be metric

pipe from w/cyl to flex = metric

flex pipe = metric

pipe from flex to T piece could be metric / imperial mix

this pipe is a bit of a fiddle to change but it is not the pipe that goes to the front of the car


A simple P clip will secure the rigid pipe, attach to trailing arm with pop rivet or screw

how easy is the t-piece to get too any ideas it may be the better option

Copper pipe metric at wheel end imperial at diff end is the way my V8s was.

These are what holds the brake pipe on the trailing arm - there should be a couple of holes in the arm - push the little collar in first then push the clip into the collar. They work well.

When I did mine I had a new pipe made the short one at the back, most good motor factors will do it, just take the old one in so they can get the right ends.
