I wonder who is going to be the first to say that's a fair return for a fair days' work?

I don't have a problem with the car at £14.5k. It seems like a fair price in the current market. The buyer was quick off the mark and the seller (unless he knows something else) hadn't done his homework on values.

What is disappointing is that if a long term owner had bought it then that £5k could have been spent on improving the car, helping to improve the overall marque. Instead the next buyer is less likely to improve the car as he won't get any of his investment back when he sells it on. I see this as a bad thing for classic TVR's.

However the other side of this argument is that it pushes prices up which will please some.

I agree with you on all counts and regards prices I have mixed feelings I know some would love to see them half the price and not rising however I don't know if people would be inclined to spend the money to improve or develop them to the same extent apart from a select few
Looks a great car and I hope finds a good permanent home or even the dealer leaving it up for sale but using and enjoying in the mean time.
