Satellite Signal @ Le Mans
Discussion
Make sure you have a good satellite finder, the one supplied with my kit was poor. And I could not set it up at all. Getting a good one for £8 from Amazon allowed me to find FreeSat in 5 Minutes.
Also, have a good compass, and know where you need to point the dish.
You should be good to go :-)

Bit of a mega bump but if anyone fancies earning themselves a beer or five and helping us out we'd appreciate it, we've spent the past two afternoons and literally picked up nothing, not even an ounce of signal. So something must be fault? Nope, 2x lnb's tried (one just bought) coax replaced and the box has been tested on existing sky dish and picks up/retunes fine. When plugged into our Le Mans dish we get bugger all. Massively frustrating.
I had a go today just to be sure, and not wanting to gloat but

Did take a bit of f
king around as the dish was wobbling loads in the wind on its quality mount, but got there in the end. Do you have a sat meter? I picked up Hotbird 13" East first, then once I had that just went left a bit...
Where abouts are you camping?

Damn.... yeah have a cheap eBay jobby from China, didn't really help much, just seems to give out a similar tone wherever the hill the dish is pointed. Staying on Houx Annexe, arriving Wednesday dinnertime. What's most annoying is ruling out faulty equipment, it must just be our mega poor alignment skills.

Well as it happens we're on Houx Annexe too, and I do like free beer....
Just checked we're on pitch Q4 and arrive Wednesday too on the Tuesday night crossing from Portsmouth.
If you want a hand let me know and I'll PM you my number.

We'll have a go there too, but judging by lack of anything at all here we may need a hand haha. H and I 28 and 29 we are on, we have the 09:25 ferry on Wednesday morning so we'll be there 4/5pm at a guess. Sure fire over your number, it will be nice to have a backup if needed
