Hey all,

I'm doing the pads on my car and notice during the last race my front right lower ball joint had worked loose! The nut was about to pop off the top of the thread!

I've tightened it so far but as the thread lock reaches the thread it spins the ball pin.

What is the best way to tighten these on the car? Lol or have I fked the upright by driving on it the way it is?

Thanks

G

Managed to get it tight, jacked up the under side of the wishbone and while stood on top of the upright managed to grip it enough to get it tight and no sign of play in it. Not convinced the upright is in great condition so after Saturdays races at Oulton I'll prob get it sleeved.

Cheers funky!

Sounds like the tapered hole in the bottom of the upright has been enlarged / oval due to the loose balljoint on which case it's buggered !
Being a cast part l don't think you can do anything other than replace the upright.

Try using a ball joint separator backwards, so instead of pushing apart it is pressing it together, it will guarantee the taper is all the way home.
