Black 964RS LHD with triple rubystone seats stolen this morning (29th May 2014) off the street in London, SW3, United Kingdom.

Has a 'THRASHER' sticker on the curtain under the rear wing.

Will be an incredibly hard car to break up, it's either going into a container or they'll find it.

Very very long shot, however I saw a Black 964 parked in the corner of Berrylands train station car park this morning at 07.30 - I was on a train just passing through, but it was parked right in the corner, about 100 yards from the nearest other car.

Looked a bit odd to me. I could not see the badge on the rear, but am sure it had Cup alloys.

My RS was stolen early this afternoon around 13:19 when I got the call from the Tracker company.
It was parked around Sloane square, Chelsea.

Police and tracker on the case - still haven't heard anything from them. Hoping they will find it ASAP.

There is a black 964 that lives in Surbiton as well as a black 964 Drop top too.

Taking it in broad daylight in SW3 suggests they might know what it is, fairly high-risk given the number of people and cameras around.

I very much doubt the thief doesn't know what he's got, or doesn't know what he's doing.
I'd start getting as much info together as to what the car is worth today, and hassle the insurance company until you get paid out.
Think of the fun of looking for another one once you've been weighed off.
Tracker is obviously the key.
If these boys are just clowns, which I doubt, then they'll park it somewhere for a few days to see if its picked up.
If theyre not, then its in a container by now.

Took more than 4yrs to find this RS, and this one was already a compromise on color.
And in the mean time prices have gone through the roof. When I first stared they were 50k, when I bought 80k and now 100+
I don't think the insurance will cover the cost of a new one but rather the original buy price from a year ago.
I doubt I will be able to get another one.

Anyways, I'm in Mykonos now at my bros wedding - I'll go enjoy that, and deal with the RS when I come back Tuesday. This sucks.

Surely the inurance company don't expect owners to study the market all the time and advise of an increase in value throughout the policy term ?

If a car is appreciating then surely that has to be built into the risk model when they quote for a 12mth period, provided you've given a fair value at policy inception ?

I'm pretty sure the ombudsman would agree with that and therefore you'd get market value at current time, stand your ground but here's hoping it gets found.

Insurers don't have crystal balls to determine what a car is worth 11 months and 3 weeks into a policy just in case there's a total loss.

It's up to the policy holder to determine the value when taking out the policy.
