928 MOT history problem
Discussion
I have been thinking about a 1987 928 S4 which is local to me. The car has done 139,000 miles.
When I checked the MOT history on the gov.co.uk site there is no history before 2012. Between 2012 and 2013 the car only covered 1200 miles. In the last 12 months it has done less than 1000 miles.
The lack of use between 2012 and 2014 is a worry, however, the lack of MOT history for 2012 is a complete mystery. What could it mean? The vendor has no service history with the car as he says the previous owner did not give it to him.

Lack of MOT history means nothing, low use too...
My 1993 GTS 5-spd has seen a total of 3k miles between Sep 2011 and now... It is my 3d car and only gets driven on dry sunny days...
I would want to see invoices for recent cambelt and general service and flex-plate pre-load check and tension relief... Overall condition of the car is most important. Everything else is immaterial... I mean, do I honestly care that the PO of mine spent £1200 identifying and sorting idle problems back in 2003? But I do care that it had a cambelt back in 2010, which meant that I had at least 4 yrs of motoring before a new one was needed...
