I've heard loads of people moaning about the AC, saying it could be more powerful, but I've never heard anyone say anything about the heater. I've just used mine for the first time and it's a monster! What must it be like on anything past minimum?

Absolutely, mine warms up in under 5 minutes and can't be used on full pelt for long!

One thing I do notice though is that the temp changes as you run - maybe the fans cutting in?

Well the heater is just a smaller version of the cars radiator. In fact, you can run a car when it's radiator has packed up by running your heater full blast. This does exactly the same thing as the cars radiator, but the hot air is transfered to the cabin instead of the engine bay.

Martin - avoid max on the dial as the air is hotter than the sun, just a warning

Mine must have some kind of intelligent override system.......no matter where you put any of the three dials, hot air always comes out of any open vent !!!!!

and a very good way of cooling the engine on a slowing down lap - open the windows and out the heater on full blast.
