We're staying in Terte Rouge and would like to visit GBW before the Drivers' parade on Friday.

I imagine driving would be a pain so would rather public transport it - anyone done this and any recommendations?

Not done it before but:

Tram to Eperon (the stop after Republique)
Then number 20 bus from Eperon bus stop to Saint Saturnin village

They change a lot of the bus routes the 24 hour week so you'll need to get off in the village the stop before (See EDIT below - Thanks Kiters42)

Tram and bus tickets are valid for 1 hour so you might just make it on a single ticket but probably best to buy a day ticket to cover all options smile

No. 20 Buses to Saint Saturnin
6.30, 7.06, 7.42, 8.20, 8.58, 9.35, 10.12, 10.49, 11.26, 12.03, 12.41, 13.20, 13.59, 14.37, 15.15, 15.53, 16.31, 17.10, 17.48, 18.26, 19.03, 19.40

No. 20 Buses to Eperon, Le Mans from Saint Saturnin
6.39, 7.15, 7.51, 8.28, 09.09, 09.43, 10.21,10.59, 11.36, 12.14, 12.53, 13.31, 14.13, 14.48, 15.26, 16.04, 16.42, 17.21, 18.00, 18.38, 19.14, 19.49

(Can't guarantee times with the change of route smile )

Bus journey scheduled to take 24 minutes but I imagine the traffic will mess that up
Tram takes 20 minutes

Might attempt it myself if we're still beered up from previous night smile

EDIT I've updated map smile

Did the bus stop at the bus stop near the entrance?
No it stopped bay a cafe opposite the road that leads under a small train tunnel to the event entrance about a 100 yard walk if that the bus driver gave us a shout
to get off and we just followed all the lovely pieces of machinery to the entrance, got the bus back via the stop opposite and down the road a bit from the cafe

We did it from Maison Blanche last year in (shopping trolley type) cars, and it wasn't the ball-ache I'd feared it would be.

I guessed they wouldn't run the bus down the road in front of the show. Thanks for the info. smile
